Largest Swiss Chocolate Retailer Continues US Retail Expansion to Satisfy Premium Chocolate Demand 

Just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend, today, Läderach – chocolatier suisse is bringing the joy of fresh chocolate to Washington, DC Union Station with the opening of its new premium chocolate store featuring fresh artisanal chocolates from Switzerland. Chocolate lovers will experience more than 100 varieties of Läderach chocolates at the new store, including its iconic FrischSchoggi™ (fresh chocolate) counter, where they can select from over 20 varieties of its signature hand-cut chocolate bark. Because the company controls the entire production and distribution channel, Läderach’s product freshness is second-to-none. World Chocolate Master – Elias Läderach leads production, and all chocolate is made bean-to-bar in-house, finished by hand, and brought directly to its stores worldwide. Läderach’s store opening builds upon its retail and e-commerce expansion to satisfy growing premium chocolate demand that started in November 2019 with its entry into Toronto, New York City, and London. In December 2020, Läderach opened its world’s largest and 100th store in the world on 5th Avenue in New York City.

The cocoa used in this Grand Cru chocolate tablet comes exclusively from Trinidad. With 80% cocoa, it has the highest proportion of cocoa and is the darkest chocolate in our line of chocolate tablets. It has a full-bodied, deeply-roasted cocoa flavour and a dark brown colour. This “tropical” variety features rich roasted aromas and notes of tobacco that are balanced out by a hint of red berries and complex fruity and floral nuances. The chocolate tablet is rounded out by a pleasant, drier finish.
